The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels up on Friday mainly on higher rates in the panamax segment.

LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels up on Friday mainly on higher rates in the panamax segment.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, up by 8 points or 0.70 percent to 1,155 points.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
