LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels recorded the biggest percentage jump in five months on Tuesday helped by higher rates for capesize vessels.
The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, rose 44 points or 5.57 percent to 836 points.
The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
