LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels advanced to 765 points on Tuesday mainly due to higher rates for panamax vessels.
The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, was up 6 points or 0.79 percent to 765 points.
The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
