MEXICO CITY (Scrap Monster): Mexico retains the position of global leader in silver production, while many gold mines have been emerging in the country over the past decade.
All over the country, Mexico has some of the major primary silver mine in the world.
Many of mines which produced large quantities of silver are actually not primary silver producing mines. The silver produced in that mines are just a by- product.
TSX and NYSE listed Goldcorp Inc.’s Peñasquito mine is primarily a gold mine that delivered more than 400,000 ounces of gold in 2013.
San Dimas Mine of Primero Mining Corp, listed in both TSX and NYSE is also a quiet large producer and yet it positioned among Mexico’s top five silver mines.
The supply of Mexican supply has surged steadily over the past decade and the courtier is anticipated to retain the global leader position in silver production in 2014.
