Baltic index drops to 814 points on lower Capesize, Panamax rates

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels dropped to 814 points on last Friday due to lower rates for bigger vessels.

UNITED KINGDOM July 14 2014 3:38 PM LONDON (Scrap Register): The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange for bigger vessels dropped to 814 points on last Friday due to lower rates for bigger vessels.

The overall index, which factors in average daily earnings of capesize, panamax, supramax and handysize dry bulk transport vessels, was down 22 points or 2.63 percent to at 814 points.

The main sea freight index at Baltic Exchange is the rate which tracks for ships carrying dry bulk commodities.
