SHANGHAI, Jun. 6 (SMM) – 86% of Chinese copper wire and cable manufacturers predicted that their orders would remain stable in June, an SMM survey of 21 manufacturers showed.

These producers based their opinion on rising temperatures which might impede progress of construction projects and tightening liquidity at mid-year.

Most copper wire and cable producers were accepting orders cautiously for fear of a potential cash shortage across real estate sector. In addition, demand for wire and cable for industrial and civil use waned. In this scenario, these producers would mainly fulfill orders placed earlier in bid invitation.

14% of producers were more pessimistic, expecting order books to decline in June. A majority of them are enameled wire makers, and report robust consumption for enameled wire used in auto motors. However, these producers said enameled wire applied in home appliances, which claims a large share of their orders, would experience weaker demand.
