UN Warns of Rising Global Temperatures

The chances of capping global temperature rise below 2℃ will fall sharply unless the world acts immediately to slash carbon emissions, the United Nations (UN) warned.

SHANGHAI, Nov. 15 (SMM) –

The chances of capping global temperature rise below 2℃ will fall sharply unless the world acts immediately to slash carbon emissions, the United Nations (UN) warned.

Sharply rising temperatures will trigger damaging sea level rises, extreme weather and food insecurity. Global temperature will increase by 1.5℃ should the greenhouse emissions are not cut significantly by 2020, according to the Emissions Gap Report 2013, compiled by 44 scientific groups in 17 countries.
