China Manganese Ore Market Movement (2013-1-17)

SMM Insight 07:15:19PM Jan 17, 2013 Source:SMM

SHANGHAI, Jan. 17 (SMM) -- Inquiries were sparse in China’s manganese ore market, as alloy producers can not accept current manganese ore prices. Traders, however, still kept offers firm, resulting in stagnated transactions of manganese ore. According to SMM sources, some alloy producers replenished stocks for the concern that prices may advance further after holiday. However, some other producers could not accept current prices and planned to purchase manganese ore if prices stabilize after New Year holiday. SMM believe that EMM prices will be poised to rise by virtue of declining inventories at ports and supply restriction from overseas suppliers. Supply was still tight and transactions still stagnated.
