Inquiries of manganese ore were stable at port.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 29 (SMM) – Inquiries of manganese ore were stable at port. According to SMM sources, supply of goods was still limited at port, and goods will arrive in large amounts in middle November. However, goods arriving at port in middle November is largely ordered by traders, so supply of manganese ore will still be limited. In south China, electricity prices were hiked, while bidding prices from steel mills increased. Therefore, most alloy producers kept production, and had stable demand for manganese ore. In this context, offers of manganese ore advanced steadily.

In north China, traders began to move newly-arrived manganese ore (South Africa, mixed carbonate manganese ore), with mainstream offers flat. In South China, newly-arrived manganese ore (Australia, granule) were sold out already. According to SMM sources, newly-arrived goods were largely purchased by downstream producers rather than traders. Zhanjiang port began to move Brazilian manganese ore (Mn 44-45%), with mainstream offers between RMB 36-36.5/mtu.
