China Manganese Ore Market Movement (2012-10-25)

Offers of manganese ore were flat from a day earlier. Most traders were optimistic towards market outlook.
SHANGHAI, Oct. 25 (SMM) -- Offers of manganese ore were flat from a day earlier. Most traders were optimistic towards market outlook. Based on result of SMM survey, 60% players believe that manganese ore prices will rise by RMB 0.5-1/mtu.Orders for long-term contract were limited in November, with most orders placed by downstream alloy producers. Offers of Australian granule manganese ore increased in south China, but transactions were limited, as prices of this grade manganese ore was high.
No new arrivals will land south China ports. According to SMM sources, a batch of South African mixed carbonate ore and Australian granule will arrive in middle November. Most of these ore has been already ordered. In north China port, transactions were largely made by downstream ally producers, and traders took a cautious stance.
