China Imports and Exports of Copper and Aluminum in May 2012

China Imports and Exports of Copper and Aluminum in May 2012
SHANGHAI,June. 10 -- According to the preliminary data from the General Administration of Customs, China's imports of unwrought copper and copper semis were 419,741 mt during May, with YTD imports from January to May at 2,155,719 mt, up51.7% YoY. China's imports of scrap copper were 420 kt during May, with YTD imports from January to May at18.6 million mt, up 4.6% YoY.
 
China's imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum semis were 91,083mt in May, with YTD imports from January to May at 524,157 mt, up 32.4% YoY. Alumina imports were 720 kt during May, with YTD imports from January to May at 2160 kt, up 128.6% YoY. China's imports of scrap aluminum were 240 kt during May, with YTD imports from January to May at 1020kt, up 0.3% YoY. China's exports of unwrought aluminum were 61,217 mt in May, with YTD exports from January to May at 290,480 mt, up 0.3% YoY.
