LME zinc prices last Friday plummeted to USD 1,888/mt during Asian trading hours as the US dollar index surged.

SHANGHAI, May 21 (SMM) – LME zinc prices last Friday plummeted to USD 1,888/mt during Asian trading hours as the US dollar index surged. As large numbers of buyers entered the market, LME zinc prices touched an intraday high at USD 1,924/mt. As concerns grew since Greece will launch another general election on June 17th and will likely be forced out of the market, LME zinc prices fell and closed at USD 1,892/mt. Trading volumes decreased by 2,236 lots to 7,495 lots, and total position increased by 2,117 lots to 267,066 lots.
