Chinese Stocks Decline over Slowdown Concern

Chinese stocks declined further Thursday, driving the benchmark Shanghai index to its lowest in three weeks, as falling foreign investments fueled concerns about an economic slowdown.

BEIJING, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks continued their declines Thursday, driving the benchmark Shanghai index to its lowest level in three weeks, as falling foreign investments fueled concerns about an economic slowdown.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slid 0.73 percent, or 17.46 points, to end at 2,373.77. The Shenzhen Component Index dipped 0.08 percent, or 8.33 points, to end at 10,086.56.
