Xstrata Focusing on Securing Approval for Philippine Project

Xstrata Plc (XTA) is focused on securing environmental clearance and local government approvals for its $5.9 billion Tampakan gold-copper project in the Philippines.

Feb. 16 (Bloomberg) –Xstrata Plc (XTA) is focused on securing environmental clearance and local government approvals for its $5.9 billion Tampakan gold-copper project in the Philippines, Sagittarius Mines Inc. President Peter Forrestal said in a speech in Manila today.

Sagittarius is a joint venture between Xstrata and Indophil Resources NL. (IRN).
