East China Aluminum: Few Transactions Reported Ahead of Holiday

Traded prices of spot aluminum in Shanghai were between RMB 16,040-16,080/mt on Friday.

SHANGHAI, Jan. 20 (SMM) – Traded prices of spot aluminum in Shanghai were between RMB 16,040-16,080/mt on Friday, with discounts of RMB 120-160/mt over the SHFE current-month aluminum price. Low-iron aluminum was traded between RMB 16,110-16,130/mt in Shanghai. Traded prices of spot aluminum in Wuxi were between RMB 16,000-16,050/mt. On the last trading day before the Chinese New Year holiday, most traders and downstream buyers were in holiday, leaving few transactions reported in the market. Although several deals were made in East China markets, delivery date for goods was postponed. Trading market remained rather quiet.
