Oz Minerals December Quarter Copper Output 26,802 Tons

Australia's Oz Minerals Ltd. produced 26,802 metric tons of copper and 37,814 ounces of gold from its Prominent Hill operation in the final quarter of 2011, down 1.5% and up 4.9%, respectively.

MELBOURNE, Jan 17, 2012 (Dow Jones) -- Australia's Oz Minerals Ltd. (OZL.AU) said Wednesday it produced 26,802 metric tons of copper and 37,814 ounces of gold from its Prominent Hill operation in the final quarter of 2011, down 1.5% and up 4.9%, respectively, on the prior quarter.

Output of the metals for the year totalled 107,744 tons and 160,007 ounces, the company said in a statement.

Oz Minerals said copper production guidance for 2012 has been maintained at 100,000 tons to 110,000 tons, with gold production expected to be between 130,000 ounces and 150,000 ounces.
