China Imports and Exports of Copper and Aluminum in December 2011

SHANGHAI,Jan. 10 -- According to the preliminary data from the General Administration of Customs, China's imports of unwrought copper and copper semis were 508,942 mt during December, with YTD imports from January to December at 4,073,092 mt, down 5.1% YoY. China's imports of scrap copper were 450 kt during December, with YTD imports from January to December at 4.69 million mt, up 7.4% YoY.

China's imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum semis were 103,738 mt in December, with YTD imports from January to December at 910,487 mt, down 4.7% YoY. Alumina imports were 200 kt during December, with YTD imports from January to December at 1880 kt, down 56.4% YoY. China's imports of scrap aluminum were 280 kt during December, with YTD imports from January to December at 2690 kt, down 5.9% YoY. China's exports of unwrought aluminum were 64,284 mt in December, with YTD exports from January to December at 766,122 mt, up 1.6% YoY.
