SHFE aluminum prices opened higher on Friday, boosting market confidence.

SHANGHAI, Dec. 23 (SMM) – SHFE aluminum prices opened higher on Friday, boosting market confidence. Cargo holders in South China were expecting higher prices and some were reluctant to move goods. However, downstream buying interest was low against higher prices, with few buyers purchasing for replenishment. Goods supply was sufficient in the market, and goods at lower prices were seen in the market. Mainstream transactions were done at RMB 16,050-16,080/mt. Transactions improved slightly on the whole.
