China Se Prices on Continuous Rise

SHANGHAI, Oct. 25 (SMM) – Mainstream quotations for selenium dioxide were between RMB 885-895/kg today, comparing with mainstream quotations for selenium powders between RMB 1,250-1,270/mt. According to SMM sources, though the Mn metal market has been sluggish and demand for selenium dioxide was weak, domestic selenium dioxide prices are continuously climbing supported by high selenium powder prices in Europe, high production cost and highly concentrated supply sources. Mainstream traded prices of selenium dioxide are near RMB 890/mt at present, with some producers still being bullish even after they lifted quotations to RMB 900/mt. Domestic selenium powder prices have also climbed to RMB 1,260-1,270/mt supported by high prices in Europe.
