SMM Morning Review - 2011/10/24 Zinc Market

LME zinc prices broke though USD 1,800/mt level and finally closed at USD 1,815/mt, up USD 75.5/mt.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 24 (SMM) – Last Friday, the US dollar index moved between 76.9-77.1, but fell to 76.2 later the day while the euro surged on optimism towards the EU summit. As a result, LME zinc prices broke though USD 1,800/mt level and finally closed at USD 1,815/mt, up USD 75.5/mt. SHFE three-month zinc contract prices should open higher and move between RMB 14,200-14,500/mt today. Spot premiums will fall to RMB 100-200/mt against SHFE 1201 zinc contract prices.
