China Imports and Exports of Copper and Aluminum in September 2011

China Imports and Exports of Copper and Aluminum
SHANGHAI, Oct. 13 (SMM) -- According to the preliminary data from the General Administration of Customs, China's imports of unwrought copper and copper semis were 380,526 mt during September, with YTD imports from January to September at 2,728,787 mt, down 17.9% YoY. China's imports of scrap copper were 420 kt during September, with YTD imports from January to September at 3.43 million mt, up 6.7% YoY.
 
China's imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum semis were 66,163 mt in September, with YTD imports from January to September at 667,863 mt, down 7.9% YoY. Alumina imports were 80 kt during September, with YTD imports from January to September at 1190 kt, down 62.5% YoY. China's imports of scrap aluminum were 220 kt during September, with YTD imports from January to September at 1900 kt, down 11.5% YoY. China's exports of unwrought aluminum were 60,715 mt in September, with YTD exports from January to September at 553,617 mt, up 3.9% YoY.
