SHANGHAI, Oct. 12 (SMM) –Based on the latest SMM survey of major domestic copper wire rod producers, the number of producers using scrap copper as raw materials continued to fall during September, and at a relatively low level for the year.
As copper prices fell rapidly, there was an inversion in the relationship between scrap and refined copper, severely affecting orders at low-oxygen copper rod producers using scrap copper as raw materials and forcing them to cut operating rates or even suspend production.
