NEW DELHI, Sep 27, 2011 (Dow Jones) -- India's aluminum output in the April-August period rose 6.7% from a year earlier to 696,745 metric tons, data from the mines ministry showed Tuesday.
The ministry didn't give any reason for the rise in aluminum production.
Copper cathode output during the first five months of this fiscal year fell to 256,089 tons from 260,995 tons, while zinc production increased to 328,381 tons from 288,895 tons, the data showed.
Lead production grew marginally to 24,036 tons from 23,984 tons.
