China Stocks Close 1.3 pct Higher Monday

China's stocks closed higher on Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.3 percent, or 33.60 points, to close at 2,626.77.

BEIJING, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- China's stocks closed higher on Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.3 percent, or 33.60 points, to close at 2,626.77.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.0 percent, or 116.45 points, to finish at 11,767.74.
