Daye Nonferrous Metals Invests RMB 2.1 Billion in 300-kt Copper Project

SHANGHAI, Aug. 8 (SMM) –Daye Nonferrous Metals Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Daye Nonferrous Metals") held the starting ceremony for its cleaner production demonstration project of 300-kt copper processing products on August 4th, another new technology by Daye Nonferrous Metals after Ausmelt furnace was put into production on December 1st, 2010.

Based on sources, total investments for the cleaner production demonstration project were RMB 2.1 billion, adopting production technologies of anode plate purification and SCR continuous casting and rolling. After completing the project, the company can realize automobile production, and greatly improve effects of energy saving and emission reduction. The company is expected to have revenues of RMB 23 billion.

As a matter of fact, Daye Nonferrous Metals have taken more measures to save energy and reduce emission. The company invested nearly RMB 0.1 billion in starting arsenic pollution renovation project in April, 2010, which combines current waste acid treatment technology both at home at abroad and significantly reduce the daily production of waste acid and residue.
