SMM expects domestic selenium dioxide prices will face risk to fall significantly if operating rates at downstream EMM producers continue to hover at low level.

SHANGHAI, Aug. 1 (SMM) -- On Monday, Mainstream offers of selenium dioxide were in the RMB 770-775/kg range, and mainstream offers of selenium powder were in the RMB 1,050-1,100/kg range.

It was reported that offers of selenium powder fell from USD 55-66/lbs to USD 54-65/lbs in overseas market. However, as supply of domestic selenium powder was still limited, mainstream traded prices of domestic selenium powder were still in the RMB 1,050-1,090/mt range. Prices of selenium dioxide were temporarily stagnate, with market mainstream traded prices between RMB 770-775/kg. It was reported that operating ratings at downstream EMM producers were around 40%, reducing demand for selenium dioxide. However, mainstream cargo-holders still held prices of selenium dioxide above RMB 770/kg, leaving selenium dioxide price stagnate.

SMM expects domestic selenium dioxide prices will face risk to fall significantly if operating rates at downstream EMM producers continue to hover at low level.
