South China Aluminum: Capital Pressure Relieved, Consumption Surge Boosts Aluminum Prices

SHANGHAI, Jul. 1 (SMM) – Most active SHFE 1109 aluminum contract price broke the RMB 17,220/mt level in the afternoon on Friday. As capital pressure was relieved for the enterprises during the first day of July, purchases of aluminum ingots in South China surged to boost local aluminum prices, with premiums over Shanghai aluminum ingot prices quickly rebounding to positive RMB 90/mt. Mainstream traded prices were RMB 17,330-17,350/mt. Market transactions were active.
