Domestic Selenium Prices Continue Climbing, Trading Volumes Haven't Increased

SHANGHAI, Sep. 8 (SMM) -- Mainstream prices of selenium powder were between RMB 680-700/kg and mainstream prices of selenium dioxide prices were between RMB 495-505/kg.

According to SMM sources, demand for selenium dioxide stay at low level due to low operating rates at downstream EMM producers. However, most suppliers still lifted offers above RMB 500/kg due to high costs and expectation of higher prices in the future. However, purchases from downstream consumers were not brisk, and a small amount of selenium dioxide was traded around RMB 500/kg.

Offers of domestic selenium powder still hovered at high level, and domestic supply of selenium powder was slightly tight as suppliers avoided to replenish stocks given the high imports costs. Mainstream offers of spot selenium powder were around RMB 700/kg and purchases from downstream consumers were limited.
