SHANGHAI, Sep. 7 (SMM) -- According to exclusive sources from SMM, the largest silicon metal producer in Asia has already resumed production on September 6th.

Large scale private enterprise Henghseng Industry Co, located in Qilichong Industrial Park of Guizhou province has already rekindled four 6300KVA blast furnaces. However, output of silicon metal is not stable as the furnaces have just commissioned. In this context, Hengsheng Industry hasn’t launched pre-sale system for spot silicon metal.

Henghseng Industry Co had halted production completely in early April in 2010, exerting certain impact on spot silicon metal market.

Currently, the company has no plan to kindle new furnaces. Although the re-kindled 4 blast furnaces only account for 11.8% of its total capacity, its production resumption gave a dose of confidence in increasing silicon meta supply volumes to purchasers.
