Chinalco Signing Ceremony To Include NDRC, SASAC Officials -Source

BEIJING, July 28 -- Senior government ministers, including National Development and Reform Commission Vice Chairman Zhang Xiaoqiang, will attend a signing ceremony being held by Aluminum Corp. of China, or Chinalco, in Beijing, a senior official with Chinalco said Wednesday.

The official, who declined to be named, said State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission Vice Chairwoman Huang Danhua will also attend.

He said China's Commerce Minister Chen Deming has also been invited to the ceremony.

A news officer with Chinalco earlier said the ceremony would take place Thursday.

The official's comment came as trading in shares of Aluminum Corp. of China Ltd. (2600.HK), the listed unit of Chinalco, were halted on both the Shanghai and Hong Kong stock exchanges Wednesday as the company is discussing a significant issue, according to a Chalco statement.

Chalco said its shares will likely resume trading in Shanghai on Friday. Its yuan-denominated A shares have risen nearly 14% in the past seven sessions.
