SHANGHAI, Jun. 10 -- SMM conducted a survey on 25 EMM producers with 367kt/yr capacity, and the surveyed companies cover 70% capacity in west Hunan province. According to the result, most EMM producers had already halt production as production cost has already higher than market prices, which is caused by the impact from environmental crackdown and electricity hikes, resulting in only 29.5% operating rates in that region.

The details of the survey is as follows:

Among the 7 producers that can maintain normal production, 2 of them told that they have favorable electricity prices and another 2 of them told that they have their own mines. While, the remaining 3 producers told that they were executing the previous long-term orders, and they may also halt production subjecting to the specific conditions.
