MANILA, May 28, 2010 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- Atlas Consolidated Mining & Development Corp. (AT.PH) said Friday that its unit Carmen Copper Corp. this week completed the delivery of 5,461.3 wet metric tons of copper concentrate to a smelter in China, its eighth shipment so far this year.

The copper concentrate contained 28.11% copper, 2.65 grams of gold and 23.24 grams of silver a dry metric ton, based on preliminary assays, it said. The shipment is consigned to Jinchuan Group Ltd.'s smelter in Gansu province. Atlas didn't provide an estimate of its value.

Including the latest shipment, Carmen Copper's shipments of copper concentrate in the January-May period have doubled from the same period last year.

Atlas said that Carmen Copper's concentrator can be considered fully refurbished, with a sustained daily milling capacity of 42,000 dry metric tons, after the completion and commissioning earlier this month of two ball mills.
