Selenium Dioxide Prices Fall Slightly in China

iconMay 4, 2010 16:32

SHANGHAI, May 4 (SMM) -- Selenium dioxide prices fell slightly, and mainstream traded prices were between RMB 475-485/kg.

The price decline is mainly attributed to oversupply situation of selenium in China's spot market. Currently, operating rates at China's EMM producers were around 74%, with EMM prices fluctuating narrowly. EMM producers were not eager to replenish stocks and mainly made purchases on an as-needed basis.

SMM believes that China's selenium dioxide prices will still largely move around current level and may have the possibility to fall slightly, but any room for prices to fall will be limited given the support from stable costs.
