Apr 13, 2010 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- Zambia's Luanshya Copper Mines is now producing 2,500 metric tons of copper concentrates every month following its takeover by Chinese-owned NFC Africa Mining last year, Zambia's Post Newspaper reports Tuesday, citing the company's deputy chief executive director, Robert Kamanga.
The company is currently stockpiling concentrates and has produced 12,000 tons of concentrates since resuming output in November, Kamanga said.
NFC Africa, a unit China Nonferrous Metals Co. Ltd. (8306.HK), took over Luanshya in June last year and pledged to invest up to $90 million to revamp its operations.
