SHANGHAI, Mar. 25 (SMM) -- Guangchang Zhongfa Copper Industry Company in Jiangxi Province has started the construction of 2nd phase of project, so as to expand production scale. A total amount of 1,200 mt of copper semis has been sold out.
One senior official of the company said operating rates were running at full capacity since coming back from Chinese New Year holiday, with products reported supply shortages in the market, and production will have continued into the end of this year due to strong orders. In 2010, China will invest more than RMB 2 million to purchase advanced equipment, and trial run is now under way.
The company is engaged in copper smelting and pressing, mainly producing copper rod, tube, bus-bar, and wire. After the completion of 2nd phase of project, the company will produce 20 kt of copper rod and tube per year, with production value expected to reach RMB 1 billion, and tax revenues at RMB 50 million.
