LANZHOU, Mar. 25 -- Gansu Province found four mines containing 30 tons of gold, 105,000 tons of copper, 120 million tons of iron ore, 100,000 tons of vanadium, 20,000 tons of tungsten, 10,000 tons of molybdenum and 10,000 tons of lead zinc ore, said the province's Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources.

In 2009, Gansu spent a total of RMB 316 million to start 184 geology and mineral projects, 42 of which are owned by the central government and cost RMB 106 million in exploration fees.

Reportedly, Lanzhou University, a university located in Lanzhou, the capital of Gansu, has inked a cooperative agreement with the local government of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture to jointly develop businesses in ecotourism, hydropower, mineral products and other fields.
