Prices of Low Grade Cobalt Metal from Glencore Lower than USD 18/lbs

SHANGHAI, Feb. 25 (SMM) -- According to overseas sources, Glencore is selling low grade cobalt metal with prices at or even lower than USD 18/lbs. According to a buyer, many consumers and traders can all purchase low grade cobalt metal from Glencore with prices in the USD 17.75-18/lbs range.

Some consumers speculated that Glencore may eager to move its Murrin Murrin products, and some market insiders confirmed that more than 40 mt of low grade cobalt metal was traded with prices in the USD 17.75-18/lbs range in spot market.

LME cobalt prices were in the USD 38,000-38,600/mt range (USD 17.23-17.5/lbs) on February 24th.
