SHANGAHI, Feb. 24 (SMM) -- Domestic selenium dioxide prices rose rapidly after the Chinese New Year Holiday, with mainstream traded prices climbing from RMB 460-480/kg pre-holiday to RMB 500 post-holiday. The rising price trend is mainly attributed to tight supply of goods in spot market as well as increases of costs.
According to sources, prices of imported selenium powder were in the USD 37-38/lbs, and costs of selenium dioxide were at RMB 500,000/mt. Since costs have been rising and supply of goods was tight in the spot market, suppliers raised their offers accordingly. However, any rising room for selenium dioxide prices to rise further will be limited as EMM prices haven't increased yet.
Mainstream traded prices of selenium dioxide will move in the RMB 500,000-520,000/mt range in recent term.
