80-100 kt/yr EMM Capacity Affected by Environmental Protection Investigation in Xiushan

SHANGHAI, Jan. 20 (SMM) -- According to SMM survey, environmental protection investigation was launched in Xiushan again. Affected by the investigation, around 80-100 kt/yr capacity can't not maintain normal production, and this situation will last for one week. According to SMM statistics, currently operating rates declined to 58% in Xiushan, down 23% on a weakly basis, and overall operating rates throughout China declined to 65%, down 4% on a weakly basis. It was reported that most EMM producers were obviously unwilling to move goods at present due to tight supply of EMM on spot market.
