SMM Mn Survey: Statistics on Costs at EMM Producers

Hunan Zhuzhou Yongli Chemical Industry raised ex-works prices of sulfuric acid (98%) again to RMB 500/mt; Chongqing Wujiang Electric Power raised prices of electricity by RMB 0.02/kWh to RMB 0.506 in Xiushan, Chongqing. Local electricity prices of State Grid didn't climb, but supply of electric power was restricted; prices for selenium dioxide were raised by RMB 20/kg to current RMB 420-430/kg range; prices for ore powder remained at high levels. Currently, prices to factory for manganese carbonate powder (17%) still remained high levels at RMB 900/mt and most manganese producers told that supply of ore powder was tight.

Cost Trend

Prices of manganese carbonate powder are expected to remain stable at high levels due to tight supply; overall prices of domestic sulphuric acid are stable, and goods are delivered smoothly from sulphuric acid producers. Prices of sulphuric acid will rise in selected areas, and prices of sulphuric acid will largely remain stable and move at high levels; demand is not strong at domestic selenium market, but supply of goods is tight in overseas market. Suppliers' confidence in price increases is growing, and speculative buying is increasing. Next week, prices of selenium powder will break through RMB 600/kg; prices of selenium dioxide will also be on upward track, and will get support at RMB 450/kg next week.
