SMM Daily Review - 2010/1/4 Nickel Market

SHANGHAI, Jan. 5 (SMM) -- In Shanghai nickel market, goods from Jinchuan Group were traded in the RMB 141,000-141,500/mt range, while imported nickel prices stood above RMB 140,000/mt, with traded prices around RMB 140,500/mt. Both smelters and downstream consumers adopted a wait-and-see attitude on the first trading day of 2010. LME nickel prices inched up in the afternoon, boosting market confidence, and inquiries were up as a result, and transactions improved as well.
