SHANGHAI, Jan 04, 2010 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- China's Jiangxi Copper Co. (0358.HK) has settled 2010 copper treatment and refining charges with Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. (FCX) at $46.50 a metric ton and 4.65 cents a pound, a person familiar with the matter said Monday.
"Jiangxi Copper has signed the agreement (for 2010) with Freeport, given ($46.5/ton) has become a benchmark in the industry," the person said.
Jiangxi Copper is China's largest copper smelter by output and aims to produce 900,000 tons of refined copper in 2010.
