Preliminary Customs Data for China's Import and Export of Base Metals in July

SHANGHAI, Aug. 11 -- According to the preliminary trade data from General Administration of Customs on August 11th, China's imports of unwrought copper and copper semis were 406,612 mt during July, and cumulative imports from January to July were 2,643,103 mt, up 75% YoY; China's imports of scrap copper were 450kt during July, and cumulative imports from January to July were 2.19 million mt, down 36.2% YoY.

    China's imports of alumina were 610kt during July, and cumulative imports from January to July were 3.29 million mt, up 17.5% YoY; China's imports of scrap aluminum were 340kt during July, and cumulative imports from January to July were 1.21 million mt, down 4.8% YoY; China's imports of unwrought aluminum and aluminum semis were 222,858 mt during July, and cumulative imports from January to July were 1,611,624 mt, up 193.9% YoY; China's exports of unwrought aluminum were 32,392 during July, and cumulative exports from January to July were 107,325 mt, down 79.6% YoY.
