The PV Industry Chain Sees Price Rebound, Institutions Predict Peak in Q2
It is widely believed within the industry that the price increase in the PV industry chain is related to the "rush for installations." At the end of January and the beginning of February, relevant departments successively announced regulations on PV power generation and new energy electricity prices. Commercial and industrial distributed PV projects connected to the grid before April 30 can fully access the grid and enjoy higher subsidized electricity prices. However, projects connected to the grid after April 30 can only choose self-consumption or partial grid access modes and cannot sell electricity fully to the grid. Starting from May 31, newly commissioned distributed PV projects will, in principle, have all their electricity enter the power market for trading, with electricity prices formed through bidding. A "sustainable development price settlement mechanism for new energy" will be established to stabilize income expectations through "more refunds and fewer subsidies" differential settlement, and they will no longer enjoy national subsidies. To secure the benefits of the original policies, companies rushed to install before these two periods, boosting the demand for PV products.
