Xinjiang Power Grid's New Energy Generation to Surge 30.7% by 2024

State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd. revealed that by the end of 2024, the power generation from new energy sources within the Xinjiang power grid region will reach 116.16 billion kWh, an increase of 30.7% compared to the previous year. Of this growth, the increment in new energy power generation accounts for more than 80% of the total power supply increment. The continuously increasing new energy power generation and its proportion have made it the largest power supply and the main driver of power generation growth in Xinjiang. Among these, PV power generation contributed 40.77 billion kWh, with a growth rate of 65.7%, while wind power reached 75.39 billion kWh, growing by 17.3%. Additionally, the newly installed capacity of new energy in Xinjiang in 2024 is nearly 40 times that of 2021. By year-end, the installed capacity of new energy is expected to exceed 100 million kW.
