Entering July, most SiMn alloy producers have exhausted their low-price manganese ore inventory and need to purchase high-price manganese ore externally, leading to increased production costs and narrowed profit margins, even resulting in losses. Additionally, July marks the off-season for downstream steel mills, with current steel procurement volumes lower than in June. Due to the dual impact of reduced profit margins and the off-season for downstream steel mills, some SiMn alloy plants in both north and south China plan to reduce or halt production. For SiMn alloy prices in July, the majority of the market holds a bearish view. Most industry participants expect a bearish price outlook, mainly due to the impact of high temperatures in July, which is expected to increase the number of blast furnace shutdowns for maintenance in steel mills. The off-season for steel mills leads to weaker purchasing enthusiasm for SiMn alloy, and the price trend for SiMn alloy is likely to be weak.

짐바브웨 광물공사(MMCZ)는 2026년 1월부터 8월 20일까지 광물 밀수 및 불법 이동 의심 사례 18건을 적발했으며, 여기에는 광물 원료와 금속 스크랩 총 2,654.88톤이 포함된다. MMCZ의 첫 광물자원 회계·감시 시장 보고서에 따르면 리튬, 크로뮴, 실리카가 적발 목록의 대부분을 차지했다. 단일 최대 규모는 다웬데일에서 적발된 1,500톤 규모의 크로뮴 정광 비축분으로, 조사가 진행되는 동안 반출이 금지됐으며 검토 기간 전체 적발 물량의 절반 이상을 차지했다. 나머지 사례는 1,154.88톤에 달했다. MMCZ 사무총장 노무사 제인 모요 박사는 유효 서류 없이 이동하거나 수출 서류를 오용·위조하는 행위, 화물 허위 신고, 미선광 광석의 이동 시도 등이 적발됐다고 밝혔다. 핵심 광물은 선광 가공과 미가공 광물 수출에 대한 정부의 강화된 통제 정책에 따라 공사의 감시 활동에서 특히 중점을 두는 대상이 됐다. 대부분의 사례는 국경 검문소에서 적발됐는데, 이는 MMCZ가 이전에는 갖추지 못했던 상설 광물자원 회계 감시단을 국경 검문소에 배치한 결과다. 감시관들은 현재 화물을 직접 확인하고, 위탁 화물을 검사하며, 기술적 확인이 필요한 경우 시료를 채취하고 있다. 단속은 점차 정보 주도 방식으로 이뤄지고 있으며, MMCZ와 짐바브웨 경찰 범죄수사국 광물·동식물 전담반, 경찰 정보국, 짐바브웨 국세청, 짐바브웨 반부패위원회 간의 협력을 바탕으로 한다. 검토 기간 동안 기록된 조치로는 체포, 법정 출두, 벌금, 광석의 국가 몰수, 위탁 화물 압류, 서류 미비 광물의 원산지 반송 등이 있다. 모요 박사는 공사가 불법 광물 수출에 대해 무관용 원칙을 유지하고 있으며, 국경 검사, 광산 현장 감시, 시료 채취, 합동 단속 작전을 통해 감시 체계를 지속적으로 강화해 나갈 것이라고 밝혔다. 이는 짐바브웨가 국가 선광 가공 정책에 따라 광물 자원을 원산지부터 시장까지 추적·관리할 수 있도록 하기 위한 것이다.
