SMM Review Of Silicon Coal Market Last Week

The price of silicon coal in different regions were mixed during the week. The current ex-factory price of unbonded silicon coal in Xinjiang fell to 1,550-1,650 yuan/mt amid poor demand and buyers pushing for lower prices. The price of caking silicon coal in Xinjiang remained stable during the week, with the ex-factory price at 1,800-1,900 yuan/mt.

The price of silicon coal in Shaanxi rose slightly during the week. Despite favourable factors, ample supply of silicon coal in Shaanxi and fierce price competition limited price gains, with the current ex-factory price of 1,130-1,250 yuan/mt. Due to the frequent coal mine accidents in Shanxi, government control has been strengthened again, coupled with the support factors, the price of silicon coal rose rapidly during the week. And the current ex-factory price is 1,200-1,400 yuan/mt. It is expected that the price of silicon coal will stabilise in the short term.
