In terms of aluminium scrap supply and demand, supply increased noticeably when aluminium prices were on the rise, driving aluminium scrap suppliers to sell actively.
Although aluminium prices fell constantly at end-April, most of the suppliers maintained normal shipments due to fears over further price declines and the approach of the Labour Day holidays.
The overall demand in April was poor. Sharp price gains raised cost of raw materials in mid-April, and the weak orders kept downstream scrap users purchasing as required. Overall, the market in April was a little cooler than in March.
