Last week, the average operating rate of galvanising plants rose by 8.93 percentage points to 61.34%. Near the week’s end, due to the sharp drop in the prices of zinc ingots, downstream galvanising companies replenished their inventory at low prices, and the raw material inventory increased slightly.
Enterprises that were closed during Labour Day holidays resumed normal production, and the number of production days increased last week compared with the prior week. Large galvnaised pipe plants lacked new orders as distributors stood on the sidelines and the impact from torrential rains in south China on outdoor construction.
In terms of galvanised structural parts, orders from the State Grid increased the overall orders. Orders from photovoltaics and steel structures have not yet recovered. It is expected that the average operating rate at galvanising plants will stay at the current level this week.
