From the first power industry science and technology innovation conference, it is learned that by the end of the first quarter, China's non-fossil energy generation capacity accounted for 50.5%, marking the power industry carbon peaking and carbon neutrality work has made important progress. By the end of March, China's installed power generation capacity reached 2.62 billion kilowatts, ranking first in the world. Among them, the installed capacity of non-fossil energy generation was 1.33 billion kilowatts, an increase of 15.9% year-on-year, accounting for more than 50% of the total installed capacity for the first time, close to three times the installed capacity of non-fossil energy generation in the United States. Among these non-fossil energy sources, 430 million kilowatts are grid-connected solar power, 376 million kilowatts are grid-connected wind power, and 524 million kilowatts are other non-fossil energy sources such as hydropower. The installed capacity of wind power, photovoltaic and hydropower generation all rank first in the world. At the same time, the power generation capacity of non-fossil energy sources in the first quarter also continued to improve, up 8.9% year-on-year, accounting for 33.6% of the total power generation, an increase of 1.6 percentage points year-on-year.
